Thanks, this is the sort of advice I need to read. I’ve got a ‘friend’ who’s nothing but a leech. As Adam Smith said in Wealth of Nations, ‘nobody but a beggar relies chiefly upon the benevolence of his peers’. My friend lives chiefly upon the benevolence of his peers, he’s made me close to losing another good friend. My 1st friend is nothing but a beggar who is a leech.

Thank you; I’m now going to take heed. He’s dropped, dumped, dismissed and outahere.

The askmen.com link he posted check out page 2 it has more types of friends…from those two lists i found almost all the reasons why my friends hurt my progress.

i read an article about creativity management. One of the tips was: dump your friends :p They keep you in old behaviour.
I think i’ll interpret it as: dont hang around doing nothing, but see if you can involve your friends in projects (or find new friends for new projects)

I was rich. I had rich parents and went to a great school. Then my parents went broke and all of my so called freinds dumped me and would not speak to me again for like 20 years. i quickly learned who my real freinds are (and aren’t). I am now successful again, this time on my own.I have never forgiven those “freinds” of mine, they hurt me deeply…….When i trusted them all they were doing were scheming to sabotage me and my marriage and they secretly wanted me to fail, I know that now. Today I am more successful and well known and talented than them and their miserbale paten place lives and I laugh at them….Hahahahahahahahaha, you losers!

You really only have a handful of freinds on this earth and remember, to have a freind is to be a freind and stick with your freinds through thick and thin.That is a true friend.
